SQUADS
SQUAD REQUIREMENTS
ADVANCED LTS
45 mins
For children who can comfortably swim 25 metres Freestyle with correct breathing, 25 metres Backstroke and who have correct Breaststroke kick. Balance, breathing, rhythm and sculling are emphasized. Butterfly and starts are introduced. Required equipment: kickboard.
DEVELOPMENT
1 hour
For children who can swim 50 metres Freestyle, Breaststroke and Backstroke as well as 25 metres Butterfly. Emphasis is placed on good technique. Racing skills and turns are introduced. Maximum of 5 sessions per week.
Required Equipment: kickboard, pullbuoy.
TRANSITIONAL
1 hour 30 mins
A focus on stroke technique continues while basic aerobic conditioning sets are introduced. Emphasis is placed on extending swimmers through 100 metre repeats. Race-specific skills are developed. Test Set Applies.
  • Minimum of 3 sessions per week.
  • Maximum of 5 sessions per week for 10 year olds.
  • Maximum of 6 sessions per week for 11 year olds.
Required Equipment: kickboard and pullbuoy.
STATE DEVELOPMENT
2 hours
Preparing swimmers to compete at a State level. Test Sets Apply.
  • Minimum of 4 sessions per week
  • 10 years and over.
  • Maximum of 5 sessions per week for 10 year olds.
  • Maximum of 6 sessions per week for 11 year olds.
Required Equipment: kickboard, pullbuoy, paddles, short fins and skipping rope.
NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
2 hours
Preparing swimmers to compete at a National Level. Test Sets Apply.
  • 2 x Long Course State QTs.
  • Minimum of 6 sessions per week including 5 compulsory sessions. (Mon AM, Mon PM, Tue PM, Thu PM, Sat AM)
  • A good work ethic. (Must complete sets and hold target times.)
  • 12 years and over.
Required Equipment: kickboard, pullbuoy, paddles, short fins and skipping rope.
TRIATHLON
2 hours
Preparing athletes for the swim leg of triathlon events through distance, threshold and production/removal Freestyle sets. Test Sets Apply.Required Equipment: kickboard, pullbuoy, paddles and short fins.
RECREATIONAL
1 hour
For children who do not intend to compete but wish to swim for fitness. Children must be able to swim 50 metres Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke.Required Equipment: kickboard, pullbuoy and fins.
